More Save Hollister fundraising events are coming soon!

Thank you to everyone who helped with the La Bamba event on Sunday October 7. We had close to 500 people enjoying the music!

Another thank you goes to everyone who came out and supported our Save The Music event!

A professional photographer was on hand all day taking pictures of all the performers. You can see the pictures starting on October 9 on her website at http://artbyjessicagilliland.printroom.com/ Click on Galleries and then La Bamba. The password is 2012. You can look and buy any of the photos she has in the gallery. She is also donating 10% of the sales to the Save the Music fund.

Save Hollister Music has partnered with Mr. O’s Academy of the Arts and is pleased to offer Group Music Lessons for Beginning Band Students. These lessons are designed for students enrolled in the Hollister School District, who are entering 4th & 5th Grade in the 2012/2013 Academic Year. These lessons will provide some form of music eduaction while we continue to work toward restoring music in the elementary school.

Lessons will be 30 minutes at a cost of $5.00 / per lesson, per student, and will include how to care for your instrument, how to interpret and read music and an opportunity to work your way into Mr. O’s Save the Music Band.

Advanced Band 5th Grade students, those students that have participated in Advanced Band and/or Jazz Band in 4th Grade, are invited to participate in the development of a concert band to meet once a week. Cost will be $5.00 / per lesson per student. The Band will be directed by Mr. Joe Ostenson, and the students will learn several concert pieces and expected to perform at designated Save the Music fund-raising functions. Students must be able to sight-read to be part of this group. Students are expected to provide their own instrument, music will be provided.
